ALL ABOUT THE FLUE MASTER
Hi, I’m Peter (sometimes known as Yoda), your local chimney sweep serving North Kesteven and it’s surrounding areas. As a former member of the RAF, I've transferred a keen attention to detail and work ethic which delivers the most professional service possible.
There’s plenty of alternative sweeps out there, so why choose me? Well, my customers seem to love how passionate and knowledgeable I am about what I do. I certainly see my service as far more than just sweeping your chimney or completing the task you’ve hired me for. I’ll always take the time to have a chat and happy to offer impartial advice and share my wisdom and experiences with you.
On top of this, I truly exhibit the values of trust, reliability, timekeeping and having a total respect for your home. Cleanliness is at the forefront of everything I do and will always push to exceed your expectations.
I am a proud member of The Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps and also a HETAS Approved Chimney Sweep. I use a mixture of age-old traditional methods of sweeping as well as utilising advances in 'Rotary Power Sweeping' technology to ensure you’ll be delighted you chose The Flue Master.
Please have a look at my services offered and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries. Also, don’t be afraid to stop and say hello if you see my van around your area!
Frequently ask Questions
Q. What does a sweep entail and do you issue a sweep certificate?
A. Every sweep conducted receives a Guild of Master Chimney Sweeps certificate. It's not just a sweep either, every job gets a thorough safety check and your open fire/appliance receives a Type Two smoke test to ensure draught and adequate smoke evacuation.
Q. How often should I get my chimney swept?
A. It all depends on use but at least once a year. If in constant use then you are advised to get it swept every 3-4 months.
Q. Do you make a mess and do I need to sheet up everything like my Mum and Dad used to?
A. No, those days are long gone thankfully! Modern sweeping is all about sealing up the appliance or flue and making no mess. I also use a three stage HEPA vacuum to ensure all soot and ash is safely removed.
Q. What do I need to do prior to your arrival?
A. Do not use 24hrs before. Remove any ash, unburnt logs/coal/fuel if you can. Please remove any ornaments on the hearth and ensure I have enough space to work in, about 6 ft in front of the fire place/appliance.
Q. Do you take any COVID precautions?
A. Yes, precautions are taken on every job. This includes full PPE (Gloves and Mask) from the moment I arrive. I also ask the customer to open a window about 1/2 hour prior to my arrival, and observe social distancing whist I'm in the property.
Q. Why are you called Yoda?
A. It's my old military nickname - I even had President Obama calling me "Yoda the wise one" once. (I know, shameful name drop :-))
